Depart from your accommodation in Cape Town and get ready to get your kicks on Route 62. It’s the lekker, local version of the famous Route 66 in America that winds through the longest wine route in the Cape. Everywhere you look there are vintage burger bars, fabulous farm stalls and ‘blink and you’ll miss them’ towns, each with a unique story and a charm all their own.
The afternoon is dedicated to an enchanting wonder – the Cango Caves Limestone Chambers.
You can appreciate this mystical underground world of stalactites, stalagmites and historical Khoi San paintings in one of two ways. A relaxed Heritage Tour is perfect for an informative exploration of the geological wonders and their evolution, as well as a chance to experience the amazing sound quality and natural cave acoustics. If claustrophia is not your phobia, then the Adventure Tour will afford the opportunity to twist and turn, squeeze and wriggle into the limestone chimneys themselves.
And round out your wonderful experience with some delicious ostrich steak and friendly Oudtshoorn locals as you enjoy a leisurely evening in this fascinating town.
Accommodation Options Day 1
Enjoy the unique town of Oudtshorn from the Backpackers Paradise, where you will enjoy free Wi-Fi, bar and coffee shop, pool and self-catering facilities and the flexibility to choose between dormitory or private rooms with en suite bathroom.
Spend your evening in the elegant sandstone building, enjoying local hospitality – Yamkela means ‘welcome’ in Xhosa, and you certainly will feel exactly that in this tranquil, homely oasis.
You will love the experience of this tented lodge offering a wonderful game experience, including resident hippos, giraffes, waterbuck, hartebeests, wildebeests and eland. The natural outdoor showers and beautifully appointed tents add a definite ‘glamour’ to the luxury camping experience.
A breathtaking Oudtshoorn sunrise is best enjoyed with a walk, before it gets too hot. But this jaunt comes with some very special guests. The peaceful and awe-inspiring elephant rescues Bulelo, Jabari and Malaika invite you along to stroll the dam wall of the Buffelsdrift Private Game Reserve. Revel in their peace and wisdom up close, and you will never forget it.
When it’s time for your next adventure, it’s time for a peaceful spot of canoeing in Wilderness, rare birdwatching and gulps of clean, fresh air. Stop paddling and let the gentle current guide you.
Your adventure continues as you proceed to admire the lush river views from Bloukrans Bridge. Here is where the adrenaline seeker can casually jump from the world’s highest bungy jump. Yes, if throwing yourself off a bungy bridge and free-falling 216m and then springing back is on your bucket list, now’s your chance. It’s exhilarating and wild, sure. However, if that is not quite your scene you can head into the mystical forests of Tsitikamma and absorb the power and majesty of these ancient trees
Spend a leisurely evening soaking in the mellow town way of life in Sedgefield or Wilderness. Lounge in the rustic beach restaurant in Sedgefield or venture into town for a more intimate dinner if you overnight in Wilderness or Knysna area.
Accommodation Options Day 2
Chill and watch the sunset next to the Indian Ocean, enjoy the beachside restaurant and convivial bonfire evening of Myoli beach. Includes free wifi, late night bar and self-catering facilities

Your experienced Game Ranger will enthral you with their encyclopaedic knowledge of the game, bird and tree and plant life species.
