The 3-day round-trip tour to Victoria Falls from Johannesburg takes guests to one of the Seven Wonders of the World which promises to be a magical, breath-taking experience. Enjoy an idyllic sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River on your first evening in Victoria Falls. The river flows through the Zambezi National Park which is home to the Big 5 and an incredible array of wildlife and birds. The next day starts with a guided walk through the Victoria Falls Rainforest to the iconic waterfall. A mid-day meal and drinks at the Rainforest Café is optional. The rest of the day is spent finding out why they call Victoria Falls the ‘Adrenalin Capital of Africa’.

Choose one activity off a list of things to do at Victoria Falls. This could include a scenic walk through the bush with elephants or a leisurely canoe trail through the Batoka Gorge or something more hair-raising like a bungee jump or swing off the Victoria Falls Bridge or a Flight of Angels helicopter tour.

JOHANNESBURG – VICTORIA FALLS

Guests make their own way to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for a mid-morning direct flight to Victoria Falls Airport.

Guests meet at the Big Tree at Victoria Falls for a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Enjoy excellent game viewing and birdwatching while cruising down the river.

Guests return to their lodge after the sun sets. Choose between dinner at the lodge or one of the many popular restaurants in town (dinner for your own account).

Day 2:

VICTORIA FALLS

Wake up early and enjoy a hearty breakfast at your lodge before departing mid-morning for a guided tour of the Falls. This includes a leisurely walk through the Rainforest on the Zimbabwe side of the Zambezi National Park.

Lunch at Rainforest Café close to the Victoria Falls waterfall is optional.

Spend the afternoon enjoying the activity you selected. This could include a helicopter Flight of Angels tour, a walk with lions or an elephant interactive safari at The Elephant Camp or something more adrenalin-pumping like bungee jumping or the longest bridge slide in Africa.

Make your way to The Bridge Café for sundowners. This stunning eatery is built on a platform overlooking the Batoka Gorge and offers guests a panoramic view of the waterfall and Zambezi National Park. The location is hands down the best in town.

Order a delicious meal at The Bridge Café or choose to eat at one of the many popular restaurants in the town of Victoria Falls. Make arrangements for pick up and drop off times with your guide. Avoid walking back to your lodge late at night, particularly if you’ve had a bit to drink.

If you’re visiting Victoria Falls during the Full Moon and if the sky is clear; you’ll witness one of the most magical sights in Africa which is called the Lunar Rainbow. This is when the light of the moon reflects off the towering column of spray from the Falls.

Friday and Saturday night is party night at Shoestrings Bar for vibey youngsters. For something more romantic, Three Monkeys is a cocktail bar and restaurant set up in an renovated 1935 railway carriage. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is quaint and endearing.

VICTORIA FALLS – JOHANNESBURG

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge. You have a few hours to explore the town of Victoria Falls and visit the outdoor arts & craft markets.

We recommend visiting the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel and enjoying a cup of tea on Stanley’s Terrace. The view over the waterfall and the Zambezi National Park from the historic hotel is spectacular.

Guests are picked up from their lodge mid-morning and driven to the Victoria Falls Airport for the return flight to Johannesburg.

Be careful about timing and please don’t run late for the transfer to the airport. Moafrika Tours cannot be held responsible if you miss your flight.

Cresta Sprayview Hotel is a delightful hotel in Victoria Falls which offers guests stylish but affordable accommodation and all the modern conveniences for a pleasant stay. It’s right on the doorstep of the Victoria Falls Rainforest and 1 kilometre away from the central business district.

It’s an ideal place to stay in Victoria Falls as you’re a short walk from everything there is to see and do in the area and close to all the action. When the Falls are in full flood, the towering spray can be seen from Cresta Sprayview which is where it got its name.

Explorer’s Village is child-friendly and perfect for families with young and older children.

The Village chalets are beautifully appointed and stylishly decorated but priced to be affordable for guests travelling on a tighter budget, particularly families with children. There is no ‘minimum stay’ requirement for the chalets at Explorer’s Village.

LOKUTHULA LODGE

Lokuthula Lodge means ‘place of peace’ and offers guests a quiet retreat away from the busy backpacking set in town. It’s an affordable family-friendly establishment in Victoria Falls set in a lush setting. Warthogs, bushbuck and mongooses roam the beautiful garden which features a three-tiered swimming pool and playground.

The lodge can be booked on a self-catering or bed & breakfast basis. Breakfast is a hearty buffet-style affair at The Boma Café which is located on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate. Light meals are served at the Boma Café until 16h30.

A perfect place for sundowners on the same property is at Buffalo Bar which offers guests a panoramic view of the surrounding bushveld and excellent game viewing as the bar looks onto a permanent waterhole situated in front of the luxury safari lodge. You can also enjoy the Vulture Culture experience and The Boma dinner and drum show while staying at Lokuthula Lodge.

SHOESTRINGS BACKPACKERS & BAR

Shoestrings Backpackers & Bar is the party place in Victoria Falls and geared for young fun-loving travellers visiting Victoria Falls on a shoestring budget. It’s located in the centre of town so everything is less than a 5-minute walk from the Lodge. It’s only a short 10 minute walk to the Victoria Falls waterfall.

Shoestrings is suited for the young backpacking set and young couples travelling on a tight budget. It’s not suited for older couples and families with young children as it gets very noisy and lively at times.

It’s all about fun, relaxation and socialising with fellow travellers. Guests spend time lounging around the outdoor pool, reading books in hammocks under shady trees or tucking into one of Shoestrings famous pizzas.

The bar is open to non-paying guests and there’s always a big party at Shoestrings on Friday and Saturday night and it gets very noisy and raucous. Shoestrings regularly puts on fun entertainment which includes traditional African dancers, singers and musicians.

If you’re looking for a vibey, festive place to stay that’s relatively cheap and comfortable; this budget backpacking lodge is ideal. Accommodation at Shoestrings ranges from dormitories with bunk beds, rooms with twin or double beds or there is the camping option.

Other facilities include a braai (barbeque area) and a communal self-catering kitchen. Shoestrings Café is a trendy eatery at the lodge and offers meals for breakfast, lung and dinner.

VICTORIA FALLS BACKPACKERS LODGE

Victoria Falls Backpackers Lodge is a rustic thatched establishment in Victoria Falls hotel more suited to the young, fun-loving backing set, solo travellers and young couples travelling on a tight budget. It’s set in a beautiful tropical garden and located only 3-kilometres from the Victoria Falls railway station and 4 kilometres from the start of the hiking trails through the Victoria Falls National Park.

Guests booked into Victoria Falls Backpackers Lodge stay in basic dormitories which sleep up to 12 people in each with shared bathrooms. There are a few A-framed bungalows with an ensuite bathroom in the garden which couples can book for more privacy.

There’s a casual open-air café at Victoria Falls which serves breakfast and light meals as well as an outdoor pool and fun things for children such as an oversized chess set and playground. There’s also a decent camping site on the grounds.

It’s an affordable budget lodge in the heart of Victoria Falls but it’s clean and comfortable and more than adequate for the few hours you spend at the lodge. The rest of the time you’re busy with all the activities on offer at Vic Falls and a tour of one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
