Zimbabwe visa
Travellers who require a tourist visa to enter Zimbabwe or Zambia can purchase a single entry or double entry tourist visa from customs/immigrations at their point of entry (airport or border post). It’s an easy process but be warned; you need to have the correct amount available in US Dollars as there is no electronic payment facility available.
You can pay for your tourist visa using other currencies accepted by immigrations but you will lose money on the exchange rate. Accepted currencies in Zimbabwe and Zambia are the South African Rand and Botswana Pula.
A double-entry visa allows you to leave Zimbabwe and return within a set time. This is required if you plan to leave Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to visit Livingstone in Zambia or Chobe National Park in Botswana.
A single entry visa for Zimbabwe is US$30 and a double-entry visa is US$45 (2018 price)
Some nationalities are charged more, for example a British passport holder will pay US$55 for a single entry visa and US$ a double-entry visa.
Certain nationalities are required to apply for a visa in advance and are reviewed by authorities before it is granted.
Multiple-entry visas are available but you need to apply for these in advance through Immigrations in Zimbabwe or through a Zimbabwe Embassy in your country. It takes for them to be issued and there’s no guarantee you will receive it.
A tourist visa grants entry for a period of up to 30 days from date of entry. It may be extended for up to 90 days and in some cases, up to 180 days. This is at the discretion of the issuing immigration officer. Visitors are limited to staying in Zimbabwe for a maximum of 180 days (6 months) in a 12 month period.
Zimbabwe and Zambia introduced a joint Univisa for tourists which costs US$50 (2018 price). It is valid for 30 days and allows holders to tour Zimbabwe and Zambia without restriction. It also includes entry into Botswana to visit Chobe National Park.
This is a cheaper option for tourists such as British and Canadian nationals than the Zimbabwe-only tourist visa.
The Univisa is an excellent option if you’re visiting Victoria Falls and want to see it from the Zimbabwe and Zambian side and enjoy activities conducted on both sides. It is also useful if you choose to stay in Livingstone in Zambia and need to cross over the bridge for activities which are only conducted on the Zimbabwe side.
Visa requirement for activities on Victoria Falls Bridge
An activity such as bungee jumping and ziplining on the Victoria Falls Bridge does not affect your visa status (on both the Zimbabwe and Zambia side). The bridge is classified as ‘no-person’s land’ and you’re not officially entering into the other country.

This tour requires guests to have a passport which is valid for at least six months from date of entry. You also need to have a few blank pages in your passport for stamps.
Travellers are required to produce proof of travel details to return home and evidence of sufficient funding to cover costs if travelling by car or tour bus. Travellers flying to Zimbabwe need to produce proof of a return ticket home.

Zimbabwe and Zambia are malaria regions and it is recommended that tourists travelling to Victoria Falls take anti-malaria tablets to prevent contracting the disease. Malaria is a life-threatening disease and needs to be taken seriously. It is prevalent in summer and winter in Zimbabwe but more problematic in summer during the rainy season.
Consult your local GP or a travel clinic before departing on your holiday to Victoria Falls for advice on what anti-malaria prophylactics to take.

South Africa and Botswana have recently dropped the Yellow Fever inoculation requirement for people visiting Zambia.
